Being born into a horsey family I was always going to ride and fell in love with the animals as soon as I saw them. My Mum, Shelley, coached me in my younger years.  Anna Duffy eventually became my instructor, and I was also privileged to campaign a number of the beautiful ponies owned by Anna and Helen Duffy of Cimeron Stud.

I have achieved so many dreams, goals and memorable wins over the years, with my first big win being SHC Champion Junior rider of the year in 2003 at the age of 11 and qualifying for Grand Nationals! 

From then on, each year I have either won Champion or Runner Up at both EWA and SHC Horse of the Year in my rider classes from Junior, Intermediate and now Senior rider classes. 

In 2012 all my dreams, goals and hard work paid off when I was declared the Winner of the “2012 Rivenlee Horse Floats Grand National Rider of the Year” - 17years and under 21 years which was the most memorable moment anyone could dream of!! Shannara works as a sales assistant at Saddle Plus Perth WA.
